Potty training a puppy is now much easier than a few years ago. For small dogs, we recommend pee mats. They are little pads that you can place at home; similar to diapers but, in the form of mats.
Placing It
Placing your pee mat, is actually one of the main factors to if your dog uses the mat. It should be a visible area, preferably near the dogs cage. If you are using a pen, check this out.
Introduce
Allow your puppy to check the pee mats out, sniff it and stand on it. When your puppy walks on the mat, say “go potty” or, “go pee”.
Reward
When your dog poops or pees, say “good puppy” and give your dog a treat.
Make sure to stay consistent.
