If you are an animal lover, you’ll feel like you need to help out, you should! Chances are that there is someone roaming the streets and putting up posters for their lost dog. Each dog is different: approach the dog with caution, look at it’s body language.
Approach
Most stray/lost dogs will run away or attack you if you move too close to it, too fast. If the ears are down and tail between the hind paws mean that the dog is scared. Speak softly, calling the dog to you. If it doesn’t approach you, get some food. If you are not comfortable, call animal control.
Find The Owner
People who lose their dogs usually call animal shelters. Use FindOto to make a poster. Email it to the shelters. Wait a few weeks. If you don’t hear back: consider adopting the dog. Or finding it parents in the community. Or, you can just let the dog be at an animal shelter.
