A rabies vaccine, like other vaccines can have side effects. The side effects to the vaccine come when the immune system develops an overactive immune reaction to parts of the vaccine, like proteins.
You may see these side effects immediately, or in a day.
- Difficulty Breathing
- Swelling in the face
There is no immediate first aid, or anything that you can do, it’s recommended that you take your dog to the vet immediately. They can treat the dog, and make notes of the reaction to send to the vaccine’s manufacturer and or a federal body.
If you believe your dog is unwell you should take your dog to the vet immediately instead of consulting online resources like The Pet Project. The Pet Project is not responsible for the health of your dog
