Cooper, my dog would be on the sofa 24/7. We decided that he was beyond repair and just gave him that sofa. So, when your dog jumps on the sofa, what do you do?
What Do You Do?
It’s simple, if the sofa has pillows: put the pillows flat on top of the sofa, hopefully making the sofa to high for the dog to jump on. Then what do you do when your sitting on the sofa? Say, ‘No’ as the dog is sitting, looking up at the sofa. This is the dog preparing to jump up onto the sofa. If you walk into a room and see the dog sitting on the sofa, place your hands under his forepaws as if you are lifting him up, just don’t lift yet. If your dog growls, let go immediately. If there is a pillow behind the dog, push the dog off with the pillow. Or get something that you can push behind the dog.
