Most pet owners don’t really get concerned if their cat starts losing weight without an explanation. You need to take action in case this happens to your cats.
It’s hard to assess if the cat loses weight gradually. At ideal weight for your cat; their will be a tuck at the weight of the cat that is noticeable but not extreme. The ribs should have some fat around them. If you can feel them prominently and are visible, your cat is likely underweight.
What To Do?
Contact your vet immediately. Ask them what to do and; if needed, take the cat in for a checkup.
